Date: Sept. 27, 2026 Participant: Angel Rodriguez #10111 Race: 2026 Boulderthon Marathon Distance: 26.2 miles

Strong Middle Miles Anchor a Hard-Fought Marathon Angel Rodriguez finished the 2026 Boulderthon Marathon in 4:21:39, averaging 9:59 per mile over the 26.2-mile course. He opened briskly, settling into the 9:30s through the first half, then tightened his pace even further through the middle miles before a stretch of fatigue pushed splits into the 10:4811:38 range between miles 19 and 23. He answered with a strong close, dropping back into the 10:30s over the final three miles to bring it home. His best work came at mile 11, covered in 8:35, the fastest mile of his race and a clear surge point in an otherwise measured effort. That stretch pulled his cumulative pace down before the later miles tested him. Fittingly, he capped the effort with a finish on the Pearl Street Mall in downtown Boulder, a fitting reward after covering ground at altitude in a city sitting more than 5,000 feet above sea level.
