Her overall pace of 7:02 per mile reflected a race that opened fast, tightened into a strong middle stretch, then eased slightly through the closing miles. After a 7:20 opening mile, she clicked off consecutive miles in the 6:496:58 range through mile six, then held mostly steady before a modest late fade in miles 11 and 13. Her sharpest mile-plus stretch came from mile 3 through mile 6, four straight splits between 6:43 and 6:52, the fastest of the race. That surge carried her past the lululemon Power-Up Zone near mile 9.5, where she posted a 6:50 mile, before Boulders altitudeover 5,000 feetmade itself felt in the final miles.
