Date: Sept. 27, 2026 Participant: Xavier Derr #41910 Race: 2026 Boulderthon 5K Distance: 3.1 miles

Strong Start Fuels a Steady 5K Finish Xavier Derr, 11, of Aurora, completed the 2026 Boulderthon 5K in 56:04, an overall pace of 18:05 per mile. His race showed a clear pattern: a brisk opening mile at 12:52, followed by a gradual easing to 17:22 for mile two and 24:44 for the final mile, as cumulative pace shifted from 15:06 to 18:19 per mile by the finish. That opening mile stands out as the strongest stretch of his race, run nearly five minutes faster than his closing mile. Racing at Boulder's elevation of over 5,000 feet adds context to that early pace and the effort required to sustain it across the full 5K distance. With no prior Boulderthon results on record, this run establishes a solid baseline for Xavier as he continues building endurance at distance events.
