Date: Sept. 27, 2026 Participant: Ossiel Lopez #41217 Race: 2026 Boulderthon 5K Distance: 3.1 miles

Fast Middle Mile Anchors a Steady 5K Effort Ossiel Lopez completed the 2026 Boulderthon 5K in 27:29. He opened with a 9:28 first mile, surged to a 7:34 second mile, and closed with a 9:38 third mile, evening out to an 8:52 overall pace. That middle mile stood out as the fastest stretch of his race, a sharp pickup from the opening pace that briefly moved him into better position before settling into the closing mile. Running at Boulder's altitude of over 5,000 feet, Lopez's ability to find a gear in the middle mile is a good building block a touch more evenness between the first and last miles could help smooth the overall effort next time out.
