Strong Opening Mile Gives Way to a Late Fade Joe Presti completed the 5K in 24:50, an 8:00/mile pace across the 3.1-mile distance in the 2026 Boulderthon. Presti went out fast, covering the opening mile in 6:55, his quickest of the race. He held a 7:06 cumulative pace through two miles despite a second-mile split of 7:19, before the final mile slowed to 9:43, pulling his overall pace back to 8:00/mile at the finish. That opening mile stands as the clear highlight of his race, run well ahead of his eventual overall pace.
