Strong Middle Mile Anchors Solid 5K Finish Faith Whittington completed the 2026 Boulderthon 5K in 28:04, an average pace of 9:03 per mile. She opened with a 9:08 first mile, surged to 7:56 through the second, then eased to 10:05 over the final stretch to the Pearl Street Mall finish. That second mile stood out as her fastest of the race, showing a notable gear shift after a measured start. The pacing shape suggests strong mid-race strength, with room to carry that rhythm deeper into the closing mile. Boulder's elevation, sitting above 5,000 feet, adds context to any 5K effort in this field of 2,677.
