Strong Start Fuels a Steady Half Marathon Finish Vladimir Martinez completed the 2026 Boulderthon Half Marathon in 2:06:40, a step back from his 2025 finish of 1:50:08 on the same course. His opening miles were the highlight of the day: he covered the first four miles at a 7:54 min/mile pace, ranking well inside the top 550 overall at that point. From there, his pace gradually eased, with the back half of the race settling into the 9:229:39 min/mile range for elapsed pace, reflecting a gradual fade rather than a dramatic drop-off. Martinez tackled the course at Boulder's altitude of over 5,000 feet, a factor worth noting given the strength of his early miles. With his experience on this course from last year, he has a clear benchmark to build toward as he looks to recapture that early pace deeper into future races.
