Strong Opening Mile Fuels Steady 10K Finish Parker Stewart, 18, of Morrison, CO, completed the 2026 Boulderthon 10K in 58:57. His first mile was his fastest of the race at 8:11, and though pace eased through the middle miles, he settled into a rhythm that carried him to the finish. Stewart's race unfolded in two distinct phases: a brisk opening mile followed by a stretch from mile 3 to mile 4 that slowed to 11:16, the race's toughest split. He rebounded well over miles 4 to 5, clipping back to 9:08 before easing again to the line. Given the finish sits in downtown Boulder's Pearl Street Mall, at over 5,000 feet of elevation, his ability to hold overall pace near 9:30 per mile across the back half reflects solid endurance management on the day.
