Date: Sept. 27, 2026 Participant: Emmett Kantner #31025 Race: 2026 Boulderthon 10K Distance: 6.2 miles

Fast Start Sets the Tone for a Steady 10K Emmett Kantner opened with his quickest mile of the day, clocking 8:14 in mile one, before settling into a more moderate rhythm. He crossed the line in 58:58, an overall pace of 9:30 per mile, with his effort dipping to 11:04 in mile four before he rallied to close strong with a 9:44 final mile. That opening mile stood out as his best sustained stretch of the race, run well under his overall pace before the effort of racing at Boulder's altitude over 5,000 feet evened things out. He steadied through the middle miles and brought it home on the Pearl Street Mall in downtown Boulder, finishing his 10K among a field of 3,071 runners.
