Steady Miles Give Way to a Strong Closing Kick George Mayberry finished the 2026 Boulderthon Half Marathon in 1:52:56, placing 9th in the M 55-59 division. He settled into an 8:16-8:20 per-mile rhythm through the first six miles, holding that pace even as the field around him shifted. Miles 7 through 11 eased slightly, cresting at a 10:36 split for mile 11, before he closed with back-to-back sub-8:00 miles over the final stretch to the Pearl Street Mall. That last mile, covered in 7:59, was George's fastest full mile of the race a strong finish after the mid-race dip. It came near the lululemon Power-Up Zone at approximately mile 9.5, a fitting boost point given how his pace rebounded from there to the finish in downtown Boulder.
