Strong Start Gives Way to a Hard-Earned Marathon Finish Jeff Roueche finished the 2026 Boulderthon Marathon in 4:36:45, a result that follows his 1:57:12 half marathon at the same event in 2024. His race opened briskly, with the first six miles clicking off between 8:43 and 9:09 per mile, keeping him inside the race's top quarter through the early miles. From there, the pace eased steadily, and by miles 19 through 23 he was covering ground in the 12:4313:17 per mile range, the slowest stretch of his day. That late stretch fell right around the lululemon Power-Up Zone near mile 22.5 of the marathon course, offering a lift before the final push toward the finish. Given Boulder's elevation above 5,000 feet, the steady effort through the middle miles stands as the foundation of his day. A touch more even pacing across the back half could help close the gap between his early and late splits in a future race.
