Sharp Pacing Fuels a Big Personal Gain Sadar Castillo finished the half marathon in 1:48:21, placing 685th overall and 507th among men out of the field of 7,223. He opened with a strong first four miles, covering that stretch in 31:29 (7:52/mile pace), before settling into a steady rhythm through the back half of the course. Compared to his 2025 Boulderthon half marathon, Castillo cut nearly nine minutes off his time, improving from 1:57:01 to 1:48:21 and moving up more than 700 spots in the overall standings. After a brief dip in mile five, he held a consistent 8:158:35 pace through the middle miles and closed with a strong mile 12 in 7:47, showing good control late in the race. Given Boulders elevation above 5,000 feet, this was a well-managed and well-paced effort from start to finish.
