Date: Sept. 27, 2026 Participant: Madeleine Mahan #31481 Race: 2026 Boulderthon 10K Distance: 6.2 miles
Strong Start Fades Into a Gutsy Finish Madeleine Mahan crossed the line in 1:11:27 for the 10K. Her opening two miles were her sharpest work, ticking off matching 10:17 splits before the pace eased through the middle miles. By mile four she had slipped to 12:29, and the final mile came in at 13:35, still enough to close out the race with steady effort. Racing at Boulders elevation of over 5,000 feet, Mahans early pace stood out as the fastest mile-plus stretch of her day. The 10K field set off at 8:10 AM, and she used that window to bank time before the back half of the course caught up with her legs.
