Steady Pace Build Highlights a Strong Half Marathon Close Cesar Carrion finished the half marathon in 1:49:23, averaging 8:21 per mile. After opening near 8:45 pace through the first two miles, he settled into a steady rhythm, dipping to a race-best 7:55 in mile five before holding in the low-to-mid 8:00s through the middle miles. He closed strong, running his final mile in 7:18 to finish on the Pearl Street Mall. His fastest stretch came from miles three through five, averaging roughly 8:06 per mile as he built momentum through downtown Boulder. That push came just before the course passed the lululemon Power-Up Zone near mile 9.5, and he carried that composure to the finish at over 5,000 feet of altitude.
