Date: Sept. 27, 2026 Participant: Kendall Olmstead #40404 Race: 2026 Boulderthon 5K Distance: 3.1 miles

Steady Gains Mile by Mile Kendall Olmstead completed the 5K in 33:52, an average pace of 10:55 per mile. Her race built momentum steadily: an 11:21 opening mile gave way to a 10:45 second mile, then a 10:31 closer each mile faster than the last, with the final mile standing out as her strongest stretch of the day. Racing at Boulder's elevation of over 5,000 feet, Olmstead closed out her 5K with a finish on the historic Pearl Street Mall in downtown Boulder. The consistent, negative-split pacing throughout is a strong foundation continuing to build early-race confidence to match that closing speed could help her carry that final-mile pace across more of the course next time.
