Strong Opening Miles Fade Late in the 10K Iain Cormier covered the 2026 Boulderthon 10K in 1:03:14. His first three miles were his best work, clicking off in 9:31, 9:24, and 8:55 to pull his cumulative pace down to 9:16 per mile by the 3-mile mark. From there the pace eased in miles four through six, with the final mile settling in at 12:32, closing out the race at a 10:11 min/mile overall average. Racing through Boulder, which sits above 5,000 feet of elevation, Cormier's early rhythm through the first 5K stands as the clear highlight of his day. A touch more evenness across the back half could help him carry that early strength all the way to the finish next time out.
