Her pacing showed a classic surge-and-settle pattern: an opening mile of 9:52, a strong second mile at 8:24 her fastest stretch of the day and a final mile that eased back to 10:30 as she brought it home. Running at Boulder's altitude of over 5,000 feet, that middle-mile push stands out as the highlight of the race. With the overall shape now established, a goal for next time might be carrying more of that second-mile strength into the closing stretch, smoothing the finish to better match the pace she found mid-race.
