Strong Start Fades Late in a Solid 5K Finish Ray Maldonado crossed the line in 25:15 (8:08/mile) at the 2026 Boulderthon 5K, placing 249th overall and 187th among men out of the field of 2,677a finish inside the top ten percent. Maldonado's race opened fast, with a 7:22 first mile, before easing to 7:47 in the second and 9:15 over the closing mile as cumulative pace slipped from 7:22 to 8:07. That opening mile stands as his strongest stretch of the day. Racing at Boulder's altitudeover 5,000 feetadds context to the effort, and the 5K field finished together on the Pearl Street Mall in downtown Boulder.
