Date: Sept. 27, 2026 Participant: Geoffrey Klingsporn #40188 Race: 2026 Boulderthon 5K Distance: 3.1 miles

Age-Group Champion Delivers Another Sharp 5K Geoffrey Klingsporn finished the 2026 Boulderthon 5K in 19:36, placing 66th overall and 51st among men in a field of 2,677, while topping the M55-59 division. That mark came in just behind his 19:22 from the 2025 race, a modest step back but still a division win in both years. Klingsporn opened with a 6:13 first mile, then surged to a 5:37 second mile his fastest stretch of the day before settling into a 7:01 close. That middle mile pushed his cumulative pace down to 5:54 per mile at the 2-mile mark, a pace he couldn't quite sustain through downtown Boulder's finish on the Pearl Street Mall. Given Boulder's elevation above 5,000 feet, the early speed reflects strong pacing instincts worth building on.
