Date: Sept. 27, 2026 Participant: Benjamin Savage #32984 Race: 2026 Boulderthon 10K Distance: 6.2 miles

Steady Opening Mile Gives Way to a Gradual Fade Benjamin Savage crossed the 10K finish in 1:02:38, an overall pace of 10:06 per mile. His race started strong, with a 9:20 opening mile that proved his fastest of the day, before a gradual slowdown took hold each subsequent mile ticking up incrementally, cumulative pace drifting from 9:20 to 9:58 by mile five. The final mile saw a slight rebound, closing in 10:33 after a 10:56 fifth mile. Racing at altitude, with Boulder sitting over 5,000 feet, Savage's early pace reflected a well-managed opening effort. Given the strong first mile, he might consider working on sustaining that rhythm through the middle miles in future 10Ks. His race, like every distance in the event, ended on the historic Pearl Street Mall in downtown Boulder.
