Date: Sept. 27, 2026 Participant: Tavin Turner #31429 Race: 2026 Boulderthon 10K Distance: 6.2 miles

Strong Start Carries Through a Steady 10K Tavin Turner finished the 2026 Boulderthon 10K in 53:41, an 8:39 min/mile pace across 6.2 miles. Turner opened fast, covering the first mile in 7:38, then eased through the middle miles as cumulative pace drifted from 7:52 at mile two to 8:38 by the finish. That opening mile stands as his strongest stretch of the race, never quite matched again as the later miles settled into the high 8:00s and 9:00s. Boulder's altitude, over 5,000 feet, adds context to that early pace holding as well as it did. With a young, well-paced start like this, a slightly more even split between the first and second half could be worth exploring in a future race.
