Big Year-Over-Year Drop Highlights Strong 5K Effort Kevin Falcon crossed the 2026 Boulderthon 5K in 27:01, a sharp improvement from his 32:46 finish in the 2025 race nearly six minutes faster over the same distance. His overall pace settled at 8:43 per mile, reflecting a race that started fast and tapered late. Falcon opened with a strong first mile at 7:24, his quickest of the day, before easing to 7:47 in the second mile. The closing mile slowed to 10:50, pulling his cumulative pace back to 8:40 through 3 miles. That opening mile, run at altitude in a city over 5,000 feet, stands as the highlight of his race a pace he might look to sustain longer in future outings.
