Date: Sept. 27, 2026 Participant: Cory Whitman #32935 Race: 2026 Boulderthon 10K Distance: 6.2 miles

Fastest Finish Yet at Altitude Cory Whitman crossed in 55:37, his quickest of four 10K appearances at this race, improving on last year's 57:01 and shaving over two minutes off his 2023 and 2024 times. His pace held remarkably steady through the first four miles, hovering between 8:34 and 8:57 cumulative, before he found another gear at mile five, clocking his fastest mile of the day at 8:20. That surge pushed his overall pace down to 8:49 before a slightly softer final mile settled him in at 8:58 min/mile for the race. Whitman's steady climb through the field across the middle miles reflects strong pacing discipline, especially notable given Boulder's elevation above 5,000 feet. The race, as always, finished on the historic Pearl Street Mall in downtown Boulder.
