Strong Closing Miles Power a Top-Finish Half Marathon Finishing in 1:38:57, she placed 318th overall and 60th among women out of the field of 7,223. Her race held a steady rhythm through the middle miles, hovering in the 7:20s to 7:40s, before a late surge: miles 12 and 13 clocked 7:14 and 7:05, the fastest sustained mile-plus stretch of her race, pushing her from 302nd to 236th overall in that final push to the line. That closing kick capped a well-paced effort at altitude Boulder sits above 5,000 feet and carried her into downtown Boulder for the finish on the Pearl Street Mall. With the pacing already even through ten miles, one option going forward could be testing a slightly faster start to see if that closing strength can be applied earlier in the race.
