Strong Pace Through Five Miles Before a Late Fade Hale Burke finished the 10K in 57:24, an average pace of 9:15 per mile. That mark represents a notable pace improvement over her 2025 Boulderthon half marathon, where she ran 10:24 per mile. Burke's race built steadily through the first three miles, covering that stretch in roughly 27 minutes for a sub-9:00 average pace, the fastest of her day. She held mid-9:00s pacing through mile five before the final mile slowed to 10:23, adding time late. That opening 5K effort came at Boulder's elevation, over 5,000 feet, a factor worth noting given the pace she sustained early. She capped the race with a finish on the historic Pearl Street Mall, a common thread across every Boulderthon distance. A touch more even pacing in the closing mile could help preserve those early gains next time out.
