Steady Pacing Carries Strong 10K Finish Alex Sheppard completed the 10K in 52:25, an 8:27 min/mile pace. The opening miles held firm in the 8:118:40 range, and the race's best mile came at mile five, clocked in 7:59 the fastest full mile of the day. The final mile eased slightly to 9:08 as the effort wound down, closing out a race that stayed within a tight, controlled band from start to finish. The result comes a year after Sheppard ran the 2025 Boulderthon Marathon in 4:24:04, a different distance that makes for an interesting shift in focus. Like every distance at Boulderthon, this race ended on the Pearl Street Mall in downtown Boulder, a finish run at more than 5,000 feet of elevation.
