Blistering Opening Mile Powers Runner to Runner-Up Finish Tyson Miehe crossed the 2026 Boulderthon 10K in 32:00, placing 2nd overall and 2nd among men in a field of 3,071. He opened with a scorching 4:41 first mile, the fastest of the race, before settling into a steady rhythm through the middle miles, holding paces between 4:55 and 5:11 as the overall placement solidified at 2nd by mile three and held there to the finish. The final mile ticked up to 5:47, a natural easing after an aggressive start, but the cumulative pace of 5:08 min/mile across the full 6.2 miles reflects a well-controlled effort. Given Boulder's elevation above 5,000 feet, this pace stands out as a strong showing. Tyson might consider saving a touch more for the closing mile in future races to close as strongly as he opened.
