Date: Sept. 27, 2026 Participant: Darya Iganian #40713 Race: 2026 Boulderthon 5K Distance: 3.1 miles

Strong Opening Mile Fades Down the Stretch Darya Iganian finished the 5K in 31:18, moving through the first mile in 8:55 before easing to 9:17 in the second. The final mile slowed considerably to 12:00, pulling her overall pace to 10:05 per mile by the finish. Racing at altitude in Boulder, sitting over 5,000 feet above sea level, adds a layer of difficulty to any pace held over 5K distance. Iganian's opening mile was the clear high point of her race if she can carry that early rhythm further into the course next time, there's a strong finishing time within reach.
