Steady Early Miles Give Way to a Tough Final Stretch Kyle Baudour finished the half marathon in 2:34:58, part of a field of 7,223 in Longmont's home state race. Through the first ten miles, Baudour ran a remarkably consistent race, holding between 11:00 and 11:48 per mile, with his opening mile the fastest of the day at 11:00. That steadiness carried him deep into the course before the final 5K brought a clear shift, with miles 11 through 13 each landing between 13:14 and 13:46. Baudour passed the lululemon Power-Up Zone around mile 9.5, right before that late fade began, and closed out on the Pearl Street Mall in downtown Boulder, a city sitting above 5,000 feet of elevation. Given how well the middle miles held together, working on sustaining that early rhythm a bit longer could be a worthwhile focus for next time.
