Strong Start Fades Late in Season 5K Return Tori Howe finished the 2026 Boulderthon 5K in 32:22, a 10:26 per-mile pace. She returns to Boulderthon after running the 10K last year in 1:05:32 at a 10:34 pace, so this year's per-mile effort came in slightly quicker over the shorter distance. Howe's race built momentum through the middle before tapering. She opened with a 9:58 first mile, then found her best stretch of the day in mile two, clipping it in 9:27 to pull her cumulative pace down to 9:42 per mile. The final mile slowed to 11:35, closing out the 5K at altitudeBoulder sits above 5,000 feetwith the third mile as a spot to target smoother pacing next time out.
