Fast Start Fuels a Steady 10K Finish Mia Finlay ran the 2026 Boulderthon 10K in 58:37. Last year she finished the 5K in 24:57, a faster minutes-per-mile clip over half the distance. Finlay opened with a brisk first mile at 6:13, well under her overall 9:27 pace, before settling into a steadier rhythm through the middle miles. That opening mile stood out as her strongest stretch of the day, with the pace easing gradually across miles two through six as fatigue set in. She finished the race at altitude, in a city that sits above 5,000 feet, a factor worth keeping in mind when comparing effort to sea-level races. Going forward, Mia might consider a more even pacing strategy from the start to sustain that early speed deeper into the race.
