Strong Closing Miles Power a Top-10% Half Marathon Finish Braxton Devore completed the half marathon in 1:44:44, finishing 526th overall and 403rd among men out of the field of 7,223. After settling into a rhythm between 8:00 and 8:30 per mile through the middle miles, he surged over the final two miles, clocking a 6:29 mile from mile 11 to 12 and matching that pace again from mile 12 to 13 by far the fastest sustained stretch of his race. That closing kick pulled his overall pace down to 7:59 min/mile by the finish, a strong negative-split effort after a steadier first half. The race finished on the Pearl Street Mall in downtown Boulder, a fitting capstone to a race run at over 5,000 feet of elevation.
