Date: Sept. 27, 2026 Participant: Benjamin Weston #40528 Race: 2026 Boulderthon 5K Distance: 3.1 miles

Strong Start Fades Late in Final Mile Benjamin Weston completed the 2026 Boulderthon 5K in 26:16, an 8:28 per mile pace across the 3.1-mile course. He opened with a brisk 7:57 first mile, then quickened further to a 7:21 second mile, his fastest stretch of the race. The final mile slowed to 9:54, pulling his overall pace back but still capping a solid, well-paced effort through downtown Boulder. Running at Boulder's elevation of over 5,000 feet, Weston's early miles reflected a well-managed effort before the finish. Given the strength of his first two miles, he may find that holding a touch more in reserve for the closing stretch helps smooth out the finish next time. Overall, a race with clear pacing intent and a strong middle mile.
