Steady Pacing Carries Aurora Runner Through a Strong Half Carson Holder covered the 2026 Boulderthon half marathon in 1:51:27, holding a consistent 8:30 min/mile pace across the 13.1-mile course. Holder's race unfolded evenly, with cumulative pace tightening from 7:58 min/mile after the first mile to settle right around 8:10-8:30 min/mile for the bulk of the race. His fastest mile came early, that opening 7:58 split, before the pace naturally leveled off. The only real dip came in mile 11, where his split slowed to 9:45 min/mile - a stretch that lines up with the lululemon Power-Up Zone near mile 9.5 of the half course. He closed strong, dropping back to an 8:34 pace over the final mile. All this came at Boulder's altitude of over 5,000 feet, adding context to a well-managed effort from start to finish.
