Date: Sept. 27, 2026 Participant: Nicholas Orozco #20952 Race: 2026 Boulderthon Half Marathon Distance: 13.1 miles

Strong Start, Stronger Finish Nicholas Orozco finished the half marathon in 1:32:56, placing 180th overall and 148th among men out of the field of 7,223. That result lands in the top 10% of the field. Orozco's early pace was the highlight of the race: he covered the first seven miles in even 6:55-6:59 splits, holding right around 6:55/mile through the middle of the course. A stretch through miles 8-11 eased into the low-to-mid 7:20s-7:40s, but he closed with a strong rebound, running his final two miles in 7:02 and 6:50, the fastest full-mile split of his race. That finishing kick, at over a mile of Boulder's 5,000-plus feet of elevation, brought his overall pace back down to 7:05/mile by the finish on the Pearl Street Mall.
