Strong Start Fuels a Solid 5K Finish Katherine Riley finished the 2026 Boulderthon 5K in 27:33, an 8:53 min/mile pace, placing 365th overall out of the field of 2,677 and 98th among women. Her race built quickly, opening with an 8:39 first mile before dropping to 8:05 for the second her fastest mile of the day. The final mile eased to 9:54, closing out a race run entirely at Boulders altitude of over 5,000 feet. That early surge through mile two stands as the clear highlight of her effort, and with a touch more control there, she could look to carry that strength through to the finish next time.
