Date: Sept. 27, 2026 Participant: Claire Wahlberg #41173 Race: 2026 Boulderthon 5K Distance: 3.1 miles

Strong Start Fuels a Top-Tier 5K Finish Claire Wahlberg crossed the line in 22:50, placing 140th overall out of 2,677 in the field and 33rd among women in the 2026 Boulderthon 5K. That result put her in the top 10% of the entire field, a strong showing for the 24-year-old from Edgewater. Wahlberg's race was defined by a fast, even opening: she covered the first two miles in 6:32 each, a pace that would have carried her well under 21 minutes had it held. The third mile slowed to 8:44, tempering her final time, but the first two miles remain the standout stretch of her race. Running that pace at Boulder's elevation of over 5,000 feet adds weight to that early speed. A touch more evenness across the final mile could bring her closer to matching that early pace next time.
