Strong Middle Mile Fuels Final Boulder Push Grace Benvenuti crossed the finish in 29:49, good for 188th among women in the 5K. She opened with a 9:23 first mile, then found her rhythm to clock 8:17 for mile two, her fastest of the race. The final mile eased back to 10:59 as she closed out the course into the Pearl Street Mall. Racing at over 5,000 feet of elevation in downtown Boulder, Benvenuti's early surge stands out as the highlight of her effort. With that second-mile pace already in her legs, she has a clear target for building a steadier third mile next time out.
