Strong Start Fuels Big Personal Improvement Daniel Chavez Gomez finished the half marathon in 1:44:55, placing 534th overall and 408th among men both within the top 10% of the field. That mark improved sharply on his 2024 Boulderthon half, where he ran 1:56:52, cutting nearly 12 minutes and moving up hundreds of places in both overall and gender rankings. His race opened fast, with the first six miles clicking off between 7:32 and 7:56 per mile, building an early cushion. Miles 7 through 10 slowed into the 8:258:43 range before he rallied over the final three miles, closing in 8:13, 7:52, and 7:58 to finish strong. That early six-mile stretch, averaging under 7:40 per mile, stands out as the fastest sustained running of his day a solid effort given Boulders elevation above 5,000 feet.
