Date: Sept. 27, 2026 Participant: Jesus Angel Santillano #41379 Race: 2026 Boulderthon 5K Distance: 3.1 miles

Strong Middle Mile Fuels Solid 5K Finish Jesus Angel Santillano completed the 5K in 28:50, an overall pace of 9:18 per mile. The race unfolded unevenly: an opening mile of 9:43 gave way to a sharp surge through mile two, covered in 7:50, before the pace eased back to 10:33 over the closing mile to the finish. That second mile stands out as the standout stretch of the race, a full minute-plus faster than either mile that bracketed it a sign of well-timed aggression through the course's midsection. Santillano's effort carried through to the finish on the Pearl Street Mall in downtown Boulder, a city sitting at over 5,000 feet of elevation, adding extra weight to the pace maintained across the field.
