Nguyen's pace sharpened as the race progressed, opening with a 10:56 first mile before settling into a strong rhythm of 9:43 and 9:46 over the next two miles. That closing mile-plus stretch stood out as his fastest sustained running of the day, showing solid strength through the back half of the course. With a steady, controlled build rather than an early push, there may be room to experiment with a slightly faster opening mile in future 5Ks to see how it affects overall time.
