Strong Middle Mile Powers Top-10% Finish Victor Valenzuela crossed the line in 23:17, good for 155th overall and 119th among men in a field of 2,677 at the 2026 Boulderthon 5K a result that lands him in the top 10% of the field. His race built through a fast second mile, dropping to 6:23 after an opening 7:51, before easing back to 8:15 over the closing stretch. That middle mile stood out as his best of the day, and even with the late fade, his overall pace held at 7:30 per mile. Racing at Boulder's altitude of over 5,000 feet, Valenzuela's early surge shows real strength; dialing in a steadier final mile could help him carry that pace all the way to the mall next time.
