Steady Early Pace Gives Way to a Determined Final Push Rachel Benedick completed her 10K in 1:03:46. Her first two miles were her sharpest, clicking off in 9:41 and 9:30, before the pace eased through the middle miles to 10:19 and 10:51. She found another gear at mile five, dropping back to 9:56, before easing off for the final mile home. That opening two-mile stretch, covered at a 9:35 pace, stood as the strongest running of her race. Benedick's 10K began at 8:10 AM in downtown Boulder, a city sitting more than 5,000 feet above sea level, before closing out along the Pearl Street Mall.
