Date: Sept. 27, 2026 Participant: Elijah Nygren Burbach #42293 Race: 2026 Boulderthon 5K Distance: 3.1 miles

Strong Middle Mile Powers a Steady 5K Finish Elijah Nygren Burbach crossed the line in 29:53, a race that opened at 9:55 for the first mile before surging to 8:28 through the secondhis fastest mile of the day. The final mile eased back to 10:41, rounding out a race that peaked in the middle rather than the start or finish. That second-mile push stands out as the highlight of his effort, showing a clear gear shift once he found his rhythm. Racing at Boulder's altitude of over 5,000 feet adds context to that pace, given the thinner air runners contend with in this city. With his division placement and overall pace in hand, Elijah has a clear data point to build fromperhaps aiming to stretch that strong middle-mile rhythm across more of the course next time.
