Steady Pace Through the Pearl Street Mall Finish Philippe Prufer completed the 2026 Boulderthon 5K in 38:24, part of a field of 2,677 entrants. Prufer's second mile was his strongest stretch, covering it in 10:53 after an opening mile of 11:44 - a solid pickup in pace. The third mile slowed to 14:23, bringing his overall pace to 12:23 min/mile for the race. Racing at Boulder's altitude of over 5,000 feet adds a layer of difficulty to any pacing strategy, and Prufer's consistent effort through the first two miles is worth building on. A finish on the historic Pearl Street Mall capped off the run in downtown Boulder.
