Sharp Middle Mile Fuels a Big Personal Improvement Thaiz Lourenco ran 29:55 in the 5K, cutting nearly four minutes off her 2024 Boulderthon 5K time of 33:52. She also improved on her 2025 Boulderthon 10K pace of 10:21 per mile. Her race built quickly: a 9:27 opening mile gave way to a strong 8:15 second mile, her fastest of the day, before easing to an 11:07 close. That middle mile pushed her as high as 152nd among women at the two-mile mark. Finishing at over 5,000 feet of elevation, Lourenco's pacing shows a runner capable of strong mid-race surges a touch more control after that fast second mile could help her carry that pace closer to the finish next time.
