Date: Sept. 27, 2026 Participant: Neilliy Day #42036 Race: 2026 Boulderthon 5K Distance: 3.1 miles

Strong Second Mile Powers Runner to Runner-Up Age-Group Finish Neilliy Day crossed the finish line in 23:49, placing 187th overall and 42nd among female finishers in a field of 2,677. She also took second in the female 14 & under division. Her race unfolded with a strong opening mile at 7:27, then an even faster second mile at 6:54 her fastest stretch of the day before settling to an 8:50 close. That finish came on the Pearl Street Mall in downtown Boulder, a fitting cap to a race run at altitude over 5,000 feet. With her pacing pattern showing a quick start and a strong middle mile, Day might consider saving a touch more for the final stretch next time to carry that mid-race speed to the line.
