Strong Start Fuels a Steady 5K Finish Xander Stubbings crossed the line in 32:18, good for 481st among men in the 2026 Boulderthon 5K. His race built quickly through the opening miles before easing over the closing stretch, a common pattern as young runners find their rhythm on a longer course. His second mile was the highlight, clocked at 9:02, nearly a minute faster than his opening mile and his fastest of the day. That surge pushed his cumulative pace to 9:26 min/mile at the two-mile mark before settling to a 10:25 min/mile average by the finish. Every distance in the Boulderthon field finishes on the historic Pearl Street Mall in downtown Boulder, a fitting stage for closing out a race run at more than 5,000 feet of elevation.
