Date: Sept. 27, 2026 Participant: Antonio Russo Ruiz #40995 Race: 2026 Boulderthon 5K Distance: 3.1 miles

Strong Middle Mile Powers a Solid 5K Finish Antonio Russo Ruiz, 12, of Longmont, completed the 2026 Boulderthon 5K in 28:02, averaging 9:02 per mile across the 3.1-mile course through downtown Boulder. His race showed a clear surge in the middle: after an opening mile of 9:02, Antonio dropped to 7:49 for mile two his fastest mile of the day before easing to 10:19 to close things out. That middle-mile push was the highlight of an otherwise steady effort, and with the finish line landing on the historic Pearl Street Mall, Antonio capped his run in one of Boulder's signature settings, a city once named the Happiest in America by National Geographic.
