Strong Start Powers a Runner into the Top 3% Ed Steinhauser finished the 2026 Boulderthon 5K in 20:22, placing 87th overall out of the field and 64th among men, with a second-place finish in the M55-59 division. He moved through the race with an early surge, covering the second mile in 5:46, his fastest of the day, before easing to a 7:24 close. That middle mile stood out as the highlight of his race, building a solid cushion before the finish. Boulder's elevation, over 5,000 feet, adds context to any pace run here, and Steinhauser's overall effort held firm against that backdrop. With a runner-up division finish already secured, there's room to experiment with a more even pacing strategy in future races to see how it affects the closing miles.
